On October 14, the Second International Women’s University Presidents’ Roundtable conference kicked off at China Women’s University (CWU). The university president Liu Liqun received senior officials from other institutions, and signed a memorandum of cooperation with Paola Bernardi, president of Collegio Nuovo of Pavia University, Italy.
On behalf of CWU, Liu sincerely thanked Bernardi for participating at the forum and roundtable. Exchange students from Italy expressed their gratitude for CWU’s invitation and warm reception, and said that it was an unforgettable experience to come to Beijing to participate. CWU students’ high quality and enthusiasm roused their interests in Chinese history and culture, they said. CWU and Pavia reached consensuses on the issues of student and teacher exchanges, and signed a memorandum of cooperation.
Collegio Nuovo is one of the “Higher Cultural Educational Institutes” approved by Italy’s Ministry of Education. It enrolls excellent female students, and provides economic aid (including subsidized lodging), study abroad opportunities and scholarships. In addition, Collegio Nuovo also regularly invites famous professors, scholars at home and abroad to give lectures, and open characteristic courses for students at the university.
Teachers from Academic Affairs Office , the Law School, the Department of Foreign Languages, and Foreign Affairs Office also attended the reception.
