Schools and Departments

School of Social and Gender Development
School of Social and Gender Development consists of three departments and eight research centers. Department of Women’s Studies belongs to the first layer of undergraduate disciplines approved by the Ministry of Education. Department of Social works and Department of Sociology are also recognized as the national and Beijing Municipal discipline of specialty by government authority.

School of Law
School of Law offers the undergraduate program of Law. It has 6 academic research groups and the Research Center of China Women’s Rights”, specialized in studying the Women’s Law, Family Law and Women’s Rights. The Secretary Office of the China National Marriage and Family Law Association is located in the school.

School of Children’s Development and Education
School of Children’s Development & Education provides 2 undergraduate programs: preschool education and applied psychology. There are now over 700 full-time students studying here. From the data of the Graduation and Employment Office, 80% of the Heads of Public Kindergartens are from CWU. The School has 2 research centers and an affiliated kindergarten.

 School of Business Management
The School of Business Management provides 2 undergraduate programs, covering 6 disciplines: Human Resources Management, Tourism Management, Accounting, Finance Management, Auditing and Marketing. There are around 1200 full-time students who study here. The School has 2 research centers and has built up more than 20 bases for students internship out of campus. It is the board member of several national academic associations.

School of Art and Design
The School of Art & Design provides 5 undergraduate programs. There are 800 full-time students studying here. They have well-equipped laboratories for students practice, such as: laboratory of Fashion Art and Engineering, laboratory of fiber materials, laboratory of composite materials,photographic studio,atelier studio,recording studio,performance studio,laboratory of image design, etc. The Research and Development center of art design becomes a practical platform for the integration of production, study and research for teaching and research.

Department of Finance
The Finance Department is established in 2003. It offers the undergraduate program of Finance. It has 4 academic research groups and a Research Center of Women’s Development and Economics. It has a “Securities and Financial Futures Simulation Lab” and provides internship chances in Chinese banks and other financial institutions and organizations.

Department of Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science provides the undergraduate program of computer science and technology with two orientations: network and e-commerce, and network and multimedia. “Network and e-commerce" focuses on the professional orientation for students to master the computer and network technology, and become familiar with theories and e-commerce practicum, modern business management and planning. The "network and Multimedia" focuses on computer and network technology.

Department of Foreign Languages
The Foreign Languages Department is responsible for College English Courses at the whole campus and Academic English Courses for English Majors. There are two orientations: English language literature and cross-cultural business communication. It has built up partnerships with counterpart universities in other countries.

Department of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages
The Department of teaching Chinese to sparkers of other language of CWU was established in 2009, which is the full member of the international society for Chinese language teaching, one of the main members in several Higher education cooperation systems. It offers female talents training programs for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, female college students practice innovation and entrepreneurship employment, and achieved abundant research results. More than 80% of graduates passed the Hanban headquarters’ International Chinese teachers selection, and have been sent abroad to work in the international Chinese education teaching.
