Prof Li Mingshun Participates in Family Education Seminar



Co-organized by the Counselors' Office of the State Council and the China Youth and Children Research Association, a seminar focused on the current situation and measures in family education took place in Beijing from May 13th to 14th.

The seminar attracted more than 50 participants, including senior members of the Counselors' Office, senior leaders from the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, specialist experts and research scholars from across China, and associates from regional departments centered on family education.

Professor Li Mingshun, the Chairperson of CWU Council, an invitee at the seminar, delivered a keynote speech on the legal policies surrounding family education. In his opinion, it was necessary to legislate on Chinese family education. Furthermore, Li expressed his thoughts in terms of the aims of legislating on family education, its philosophy, its method as well as the difficulties it faces and the focal points of legislation. In addition, Li also gave some suggestions on promoting legislation.

Li's words won much sympathy from those experts present at the seminar. Much admiration was directed towards Li for his ideas, which were later commented upon by the chairperson of the seminar during the summary.

The seminar was convened by the Counselors' Office of the State Council on basis of sufficient survey.

Attendees refreshed their knowledge throughout the seminar on the importance of family education and the analysis of the current situation and its corresponding problems. Moreover, participants reached a consensus on the promotion of family education and its legislation.
