Sierra Leonean Delegation Visits China Women's University



A delegation headed by Kumba Alice Momoh, Minister of the Republic of Sierra Leone visited the China Women's University (CWU), located in Chaoyang District of Beijing, on April 15, 2015. CWU Vice-President Liu Meng met with the delegation during their time at the school. 

Momoh sang praises of the CWU's 2014 training course on improving the social management competence of female officials from English-speaking African countries and expressed her gratitude forchina's support for African countries.

She also said that she held a great passion for Chinese culture, would like to further strengthen the bilateral ties between China and Sierra Lone and would fully support educational exchange and cooperation between the CWU and her country's Ministry of Education.

Momoh also pledged that she would invite CWU representatives to attend the 45th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Sierra Leone, which is to be held at Sierra Leone's embassy to China in 2016.

Liu spoke highly of Momoh's effort to advance the exchange and cooperation between China and Sierra Lone and further introduced the training course on improving the social management competence of female officials.

Liu also expressed her hope to get in touch with Sierra Leone's educational authorities through Sierra Leone's embassy to China and discussed the possibility of enrolling Sierra Leonean students and conducting educational and scientific research cooperation.

In May 2014, a total of 20 female officials from African countries attended a training course to improve their social management competence, and Momoh was invited to give an address at the training course’s closing ceremony.
