Speech Given at CWU to Mark 70th Anniv of Anti-fascist War



To mark the 70th anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Invasion and the world's anti-fascist war, China Women’s University (CWU) invited Gao Zhonghua, professor of the Party School of the Central Committee, to deliver a special report on the war and relevant issues. The conference was hosted by Zhang Xiangcun, head of CWU’s publicity department, attended by representatives of teachers and students.

Focusing on the “War of Resistance Against Japanese Invasion and Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation”, professor Gao's speech focused on three main points: the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Invasion promoted the unity of the Chinese nation; cooperation between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Kuomintang or Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT), and the CPC’s development; and the significance and deficiency of the Tokyo trials. During his profound and comprehensive presentation, Gao revealed the historical significance of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Invasion and its inspiration for the modern age.

By listening to Gao’s speech, audiences gained a better understanding of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Invasion and the major role the CPC played on the main anti-fascist battlefield during the age of turbulence. They vowed to carry forward the national spirits of unyieldingly struggle against the aggressor, to stick to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, to bear in mind the wartime history, to treasure peace and to work hard for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
