CWU Holds 2015 Appointment Ceremony for Volunteers Serving at Chairman Mao Memorial Hall

On August 8, 46 students from China Women’s University (CWU) participated in the ninth ceremony to appointment volunteers to serve at the Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall in Beijing.

Those in attendance were Communist Youth League Beijing Committee Secretary and Beijing volunteer service and Guidance Center Director Guo Xinbao; Vice Minister of the Communist Youth League Beijing Committee’s College Department Guo Hao; Ma Hengxiang, director of the Reception in the Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall Administration; Yang Xiaofeng, deputy director of CWU North Campus Management Office, and CWU teachers of the Youth League Committee.

At the ceremony, Guo Hao and Ma awarded certificates to the volunteer representatives of the eighth batch. Guo Xinbao presented the CWU volunteer service team with a flag. The officials granted volunteer representatives with work permits and “serve the people” badges. The previous League Branch Secretary handed their party flag and manual work over to the ninth batch. The volunteers then raised their right hands and took a solemn oath.

In the next 15 days of voluntary service activities, the selected students will take on work of peripheral guidance, wreath laying, helping the elderly and disabled, team reservation and other tasks. During their tenure, the temporary League branch will carry out “red knowledge” and “red culture” learning activities, help volunteers to learn about Chinese history and promote the spirits of Beijing and other volunteers.

The volunteers said that the appointment ceremony made them feel proud and in the next few days they would serve the people with a serious attitude and great enthusiasm, and vigorously promote the volunteer spirits of "dedication, friendship, cooperation and progress". They will also take action to practice the communist core values, and satisfy foreign and domestic visitors with their considerate and careful services.
