CWU Clutches 2015 Voluntary Work Awards


The Beijing IAAF World Athletics Championships award ceremony was held in Beijing on September 18. 433 individuals and 99 units were commended for their outstanding contributions to the Championships. Representatives of volunteers for the Championships were awarded at the ceremony.

Guo Jinlong, member of CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, Liu Peng, director of General Administration of Sport and Chairman of Beijing Track and Field World Championships Organizing Committee, Wang Anshun, mayor of Beijing and deputy secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee all attended the meeting.

At this ceremony, our school was given awards for its excellent volunteer work at the 2015 IAAF World Athletics Championships and received a thank you letter from the Championships organizing committee. Zhang Ruizhi, Youth League secretary of China Women’s University (CWU) and Zhu Jieqiong, cadre of CWU Communist Youth League were rated as "advanced volunteers". Fan Baoting and Xia Yiyu from Gender and Social Development School, Pang Ze and Yuan Xiaochen from School of Management, Nie Ying and Pang Yanjie from Child Development and Education School, and Yang Di and Yang Yue from Foreign Languages Department were rated "outstanding volunteers." Gao Zhidan, assistant director of General Administration of Sport read out the recognition decision and presented awards to advanced individuals, outstanding volunteers and units. Beijing world championships organizing committee and city leaders spoke highly of the volunteer efforts at the world championships.

40 volunteers from CWU served at the world championships, primarily as National Stadium VIP restaurant guides and doing reception work. The cumulative service time was nine days, up to 2680 hours of the total serving time. Our students carried out their mission with dedication and grit performing exceptionally, displaying female students’ abilities and gumption. They were praised by the championships organizing committee, city leaders, athletes and their society.
