CWU Student Participates V-Day Parade


Zhang Jinghao, a graduate student from China Women’s University (CWU), participated in the V-Day military parade to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, in Beijing on September 3.

Zhang Jinghao joined the army in 2014, and served at the 53rd Base of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Second Artillery Corps. He was made part of the seventh equipment division in Parade.

CWU delegates visited Zhang on September 10. According to his brief, members of the 18th division started to train from the beginning of the year.  The end two months consisted of hard training. Regardless of the intolerable cold winter or hot summer, they persisted in setting strict demands on themselves, and practiced rigorously. They were ready at all times for the V-Day parade, and showed Chinese soldiers’ prestige in front of the world.

Through rigorous training,exercise and selection, Zhang finally got the chance to participate in the event. His division walked across Tian’anmen Square. This opportunity embodied not only his hard efforts, but also CWU teachersand students’ expectations.

Zhang is a good student and an outstanding soldier, said staff. He is the pride of the CWU and his army. His spirits of persistence and self-improvement will inspire more students to enlist, and inspire them to be outstanding soldiers.

Until now, 128 CWU students have enrolled into the troops. They study hard in their respective positions, and were praised by senior officials for their comprehensive quality and strong professional ability. More than 70 students were rated as outstanding soldiers; one student was awarded a second-class merit; six students won third-class merits, and eight students were admitted to military academies.
