CWU Preschool Ed Students Win 'Excellent Graduation Thesis' Titles

The results of the ninth nationwide Excellent Graduation Thesis for Preschool Education awards were announced recently. From China Women’s University (CWU) 29 students' graduation theses won prizes. One work won first prize, nine other works were given second place, and 21 pieces won third-class merits.

The activity was co-sponsored by the Commission for Early Childhood Teacher Education from National Association of Teacher Education in China (NATEC) and the Editorial Department for Early Childhood Education.

From April to June 10, a total of 400 pieces from 34 higher institutes nationwide participated in the activity. Academic leaders from Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, and Nanjing Normal University formed a selection committee, and adopted a double blind system to select winners.

The commended theses were all written by graduate students, undergraduates and college students majoring in preschool education. They showed teachers’ great ability of instruction in producing the papers, and students’ outstanding writing ability.

Students’ ability in writing is used as a criterion for measuring skills in education theory and practice. The CWU School of Child Development and Education has always centered on talent training, and attaches great importance to students' graduation theses. Staff strictly follow academic norms and aim for realistic research requirements. This year's thesis advisers spared no efforts to give full play to student's enthusiasm and initiative, and encouraged students to explore and resolve problems themselves. Under the meticulous guidance of tutors, students accumulated rich theoretical knowledge, learned to clarify and solve problems, and improved their writing. The students can be even more competitive in the future, hoped officials.
