Ambassador of Tanzania to China Visits China Women's University

H.E. Mr. Mbelwa Kairuki, Ambassador of Tanzania to China and the visiting group came to visit China Women’s University on December 4,2018 for a symposium. The vice president of CWU Liu Meng, received the guests and presided over the symposium, which was attended by teachers of the School of International Education and representatives of Tanzanian students of Mofcom Foreign Aid Degree Program of CWU.

Liu Meng, on behalf of the University, warmly welcomed the Tanzania visiting group. She introduced the general situation of the University, especially its contribution to the promotion of gender equality and the fight against domestic violence in serving women and children. Li Ying gave a brief introduction to the foreign diploma education project and the international exchange of the Institute of International Education.

Afterwards, the Tanzanian Ambassador visited the Library of the university and the International Student Dormitory of the Mofcom Foreign Aid Degree Program, and expressed his great affirmation and thanks for providing good study and living environment for the Tanzanian students in the university.

Ambassador Mbelwa Keruki thanked the University for its warm reception and gave a brief introduction of women in Tanzania, focusing on the Gertrude Mongellaf (Secretary-General of the Fourth World Conference on Women, 1995). The two sides discussed such topics as short-term theme country training program, Mofcom Foreign Aid Degree Program in our university, Tanzania's national theme news bulletins, and further communication and exchanges between women in various fields, and reached a consensus. He highly appreciated and affirmed the achievements of our University in promoting gender equality. He believed that our Mofcom Foreign Aid Degree Program was a good platform for cooperation between China and developing countries in promoting gender equality and women's development. He hoped to take this visit as an opportunity to strengthen Tanzania's cooperation with China in promoting women's development and gender equality, and to let more Tanzanian women officials come to our University for further study.
